Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LVRNA101 is an investigational mRNA-based vaccine being developed by Changchun BCHT Biotechnology in collaboration with Zhuhai Livanda Biotechnology for the prevention of genital herpes caused by herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2). The vaccine is designed as a multi-component formulation intended to induce both humoral and cellular immune responses against the virus. It utilizes messenger RNA technology to encode specific HSV-2 antigens, prompting the host's immune system to recognize and combat the virus. As of late 2024, the vaccine has received clinical trial approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and is undergoing Phase 1 evaluation for safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity in healthy adults.
