Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LVX-01 is a recombinant quadrivalent influenza vaccine being developed by Litevax B.V. for the prevention of seasonal influenza. The vaccine is composed of four recombinant hemagglutinin (rHA) proteins, which are produced using a recombinant protein expression system rather than traditional egg-based methods. This approach eliminates the risk of egg-adaptive mutations that can compromise vaccine efficacy and allows for a more rapid response to emerging strains. LVX-01 is formulated with the proprietary LiteVax Adjuvant, a novel plant-derived adjuvant designed to significantly enhance the immune response. This combination aims to provide superior protection, particularly in populations with weakened immune systems, such as the elderly, while potentially allowing for dose-sparing of the viral antigens. The vaccine is currently undergoing clinical evaluation to assess its safety and immunogenicity.
