LX22001

LX22001 is a small molecule drug that functions as a Potassium-Competitive Acid Blocker (P-CAB). It inhibits acid secretion by competitively binding with the potassium binding site of H+/K+-ATPase (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells. Unlike proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), P-CABs can directly inhibit H+/K+-ATPase without activation in highly acidic environments, and can bind regardless of whether H+/K+-ATPase is activated or not. LX22001 is being developed as an injectable formulation and is a new improved drug based on the active ingredient tegoprazan. It is clinically intended for alternative therapy for reflux esophagitis and duodenal ulcers when oral treatment is not suitable, and for bleeding from gastrointestinal ulcers.
