LX7101 vehicle

LX7101 vehicle is the placebo control used in clinical trials for LX7101, an investigational dual inhibitor of LIM domain kinases (LIMK1 and LIMK2) and Rho-associated protein kinase 2 (ROCK2). Developed by Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, the vehicle is a topical ophthalmic solution identical in composition to the active drug product but lacking the active pharmaceutical ingredient. It is used as a comparator to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering efficacy of LX7101 in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) or ocular hypertension (OHT). In Phase 1/2a trials, the vehicle arm serves to establish a baseline for safety and efficacy against which the active LIMK/ROCK inhibitor is measured.
