Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LY-CovMab is a fully human monoclonal neutralizing antibody developed for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19. It specifically binds with high affinity to the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, effectively blocking the virus from attaching to and entering host cells via the ACE2 receptor. Developed using Boan Biotech’s human antibody transgenic mouse technology and phage display technology, LY-CovMab does not require further humanization. The antibody features a specially designed Fc region to reduce or avoid antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE), improving its safety profile. Preclinical studies demonstrated potent neutralizing activity against both pseudovirus and authentic SARS-CoV-2, including several variants, with efficacy in both therapeutic and prophylactic settings. Clinical trials have shown that LY-CovMab is safe and well tolerated in healthy adults, displaying typical monoclonal antibody pharmacokinetics[1][2][3][4][6].
