Overview

LY03021 is a small molecule, Class 1 innovative drug candidate being developed by Luye Pharma Group for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). It features a novel triple mechanism of action, acting as an inhibitor of the norepinephrine transporter (NET) and the dopamine transporter (DAT), while also functioning as a gamma-aminobutyric acid type A receptor (GABAAR) positive allosteric modulator. This combination of monoamine reuptake inhibition and GABAergic modulation is intended to provide rapid and effective antidepressant activity. The drug is developed on Luye Pharma's New Chemical Entity/New Therapeutic Entity (NCE/NTE) platform and is currently in early-stage clinical development, with Phase 1 trials evaluating its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy subjects.
