Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LY2382770 is a humanized monoclonal antibody that specifically targets and neutralizes transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1). It was developed by Eli Lilly as an inhibitor of TGF-β1 signaling, a pathway implicated in fibrosis and inflammation. The drug was investigated primarily for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy and other kidney-related fibrotic diseases. Despite being well-tolerated in clinical trials, LY2382770 did not demonstrate efficacy in improving renal function or reducing proteinuria compared to placebo, leading to early termination of its phase II studies and discontinuation of development[2][3][4][7].
