Overview

**LY293111 + gemcitabine** is an experimental combination therapy that includes LY293111, a selective leukotriene B4 (LTB4) receptor antagonist with additional activity as a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) agonist and weak 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) inhibitor, and gemcitabine, a nucleoside analog antimetabolite widely used as a chemotherapy agent. The combination has been primarily investigated for its potential antitumor and antimetastatic efficacy in pancreatic cancer and other malignancies. In preclinical models, the combination demonstrated superior tumor growth inhibition and reduction in metastases compared to either agent alone, with suggested benefit in both neoadjuvant and palliative settings.
