Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LY3844583 is a monoclonal antibody developed by Eli Lilly for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. It acts as an inhibitor of the glucocorticoid-induced tumor necrosis factor receptor-related protein (GITR), also known as TNFRSF18. The drug was designed to modulate immune responses by antagonizing GITR, a target involved in T-cell activation and regulation. Its development represented a novel approach to treating inflammatory skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis. Clinical trials were conducted to assess its safety and tolerability in both healthy participants and those with atopic dermatitis; however, development was discontinued after phase 1 due to lack of efficacy[1][2][3].
