Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LYB014 + A02 is an investigational multi-stage malaria vaccine candidate developed by Patronus Biotech. It consists of LYB014, a novel universal virus-like particle (U-VLP) vaccine designed to simultaneously target three critical life-cycle stages of the *Plasmodium falciparum* parasite, combined with A02 (also referred to as A02B), a fully synthetic liposomal adjuvant system. The A02 adjuvant is engineered to enhance both humoral and cellular immune responses, providing a robust and sustained defense against infection and severe disease. By targeting multiple stages of the parasite's life cycle, the vaccine aims to prevent infection, disease, and transmission, reducing the risk of parasite escape. The combination is currently being evaluated in a Phase I first-in-human clinical trial in Australia.
