Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LYB017 + A02 is an investigational multi-stage malaria vaccine candidate developed by Patronus Biotech. It consists of LYB017, a novel virus-like particle (U-VLP) vaccine antigen designed to target three key life-cycle stages of the *Plasmodium vivax* parasite, formulated with Patronus Biotech's proprietary A02 (or A02B) adjuvant. A02 is a novel, low-cost, fully synthetic liposomal adjuvant containing synthetic QS-21 and monophosphoryl lipid A (MPL) designed to stimulate robust and long-lasting humoral and cellular immune responses. By targeting multiple stages of the *P. vivax* life cycle (including the pre-erythrocytic, erythrocytic, and transmission stages), the vaccine aims to provide comprehensive protection against infection, disease, and transmission. LYB017 + A02 is currently being evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial in healthy adult volunteers.
