LYC001

LYC001 is an innovative immunotherapy consisting of a high-affinity Interleukin-2 (IL-2) complex stabilized by PEG2000-DSPE (1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[methoxy(polyethylene glycol)-2000]). Developed for the treatment of advanced and rare solid tumors, it is designed to maintain IL-2 in a uniform bound state, which prevents the rapid release of free IL-2 upon dilution in physiological fluids. This stabilization strategy aims to overcome the historical limitations of recombinant IL-2 therapy, such as a short half-life and severe systemic toxicities like vascular leak syndrome, by providing a more controlled and sustained activation of the IL-2 signaling pathway. By acting as an agonist of the IL-2 receptor, LYC001 promotes the expansion and effector function of cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cells within the tumor microenvironment to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. It is currently being evaluated in the PLATFORM2 phase I/II trial sponsored by the Cancer Institute and Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.
