Lycorine is a natural pyrrolo[de]phenanthridine ring-type alkaloid extracted from the Amaryllidaceae plant family. It exhibits a wide range of physiological effects, including anti-cancer, anti-viral, anti-malarial, and anti-inflammatory. Although its exact mechanism of action is not fully understood, lycorine is considered a candidate for anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer treatments.
