LyGenesis's thymus cell therapy is an allogeneic regenerative cell therapy designed to address age-related immune system decline, known as immunosenescence. The therapy involves the transplantation of allogeneic thymus-derived cells into a patient's lymph nodes using a minimally invasive endoscopic ultrasound procedure. Once transplanted, the lymph nodes serve as natural bioreactors, facilitating the growth of these cells into a functional, ectopic thymus. This ectopic organ is intended to restore thymic function and "reboot" the immune system, potentially offering regenerative and longevity benefits. Unlike many modern cell therapies, this platform does not involve genetic engineering of the cells.
