Overview

Lymphocyte-specific protein 1 short hairpin RNA (LSP1-shRNA) is an experimental gene-silencing agent designed to reduce the expression of the *LSP1* gene via RNA interference (RNAi). LSP1 is an intracellular F-actin binding protein primarily expressed in leukocytes and endothelial cells, where it regulates actin cytoskeleton remodeling and cell migration. In the context of oncology, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), LSP1 has been identified as a potential promoter of tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. By utilizing a short hairpin RNA structure, typically delivered via a viral vector such as lentivirus, this agent triggers the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to degrade LSP1 mRNA. This knockdown aims to inhibit oncogenic signaling pathways and reduce the metastatic potential of tumor cells, making it a valuable tool for studying the functional role of LSP1 in cancer progression and inflammatory responses.
