**Lymphotactin-modified dendritic cells** are dendritic cells (DCs) genetically engineered to express the chemokine lymphotactin (XCL1). This modification enhances the migratory ability of the DCs for CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, thereby boosting their capacity to induce antitumor immunity when loaded with antigenic peptides. In preclinical studies, these modified DCs have been shown to serve as more potent adjuvants for peptide delivery, inducing stronger cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses and protective immunity against tumor challenges than unmodified dendritic cells[1][2][3]. The primary mechanism involves improved recruitment of antigen-specific T cells into the immune response due to secretion of lymphotactin, which acts via the chemokine receptor XCR1 principally expressed on cross-presenting dendritic cells[4][6]. This approach is under investigation as a cell therapy for cancer immunotherapy.
