Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LYN-045 is an investigational once-weekly extended-release (ER) oral capsule formulation of dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. Developed by Lyndra Therapeutics using its proprietary LYNX drug delivery platform (originally licensed from MIT), LYN-045 is designed to reside in the stomach and provide continuous, steady release of dapagliflozin over a seven-day period. This once-weekly dosing regimen aims to improve medication adherence and glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus compared to daily immediate-release formulations. Sun Pharma holds an exclusive license to manufacture and market LYN-045 in six countries, including India and Brazil, pending further clinical development.
