Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LYN-057 is an investigational, orally administered, once-weekly gastro-retentive extended-release formulation of memantine hydrochloride, developed by Lyndra Therapeutics for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The drug utilizes Lyndra's proprietary stellate (star-shaped) delivery platform, which consists of a capsule containing polymer-coated drug-loaded arms that unfold in the stomach. This design allows the dosage form to be retained in the stomach for approximately one week, providing sustained release of memantine, an N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist. By reducing dosing frequency from daily to once weekly, LYN-057 aims to improve medication adherence in patients with Alzheimer's disease.
