Lypgen 100 is an oral antidiabetic medication containing 100 mg of sitagliptin, developed and marketed by Ingram Biosciences. As a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, it functions by slowing the degradation of incretin hormones, including glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). This action leads to increased insulin secretion and decreased glucagon production in a glucose-dependent manner, effectively lowering blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is available as a branded generic formulation in India.
