Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lysimachia christinae extract is a botanical extract derived from the whole herb of *Lysimachia christinae* Hance (commonly known as Jin Qian Cao or Gold Coin Grass), a traditional Chinese medicinal plant. It is widely utilized in traditional medicine and dietary supplements for its diuretic, litholytic, and hepatoprotective properties, particularly in the treatment of urolithiasis (kidney stones) and gallbladder stones. Beyond its traditional applications, the extract is being investigated for its potential therapeutic benefits in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease. Mechanistically, the extract exhibits inhibitory activity against acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and aldose reductase, and modulates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARA) signaling and downstream inflammatory pathways, including the downregulation of C-X-C motif chemokine 10 (CXCL10). It is also marketed as a cosmetic active ingredient under the brand name Oximony by BASF for skin longevity and anti-senescence applications.
