Overview

This is a preclinical-stage phage-encoded lysin biotherapeutic being developed by Techinvention Lifecare. The drug is designed to target uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC), the primary causative agent of urinary tract infections (UTIs), particularly those caused by antimicrobial-resistant (AMR) strains. The mechanism of action involves the enzymatic degradation of the bacterial cell wall (peptidoglycan), leading to rapid bacterial lysis and death. As a bacteriophage-derived enzyme, it offers a novel biologic approach to treating infections that are increasingly resistant to traditional small-molecule antibiotics.
