Overview

LYSP-15x is a recombinant lysin-based antimicrobial enzyme being developed by Lysigen for the treatment of blood stream infections. It is specifically designed to target and degrade the peptidoglycan layer of the bacterial cell walls of *Staphylococcus aureus* (including both methicillin-resistant [MRSA] and methicillin-susceptible [MSSA] strains) and various species within the *Streptococcus* genus. By cleaving the peptidoglycan, the enzyme causes rapid bacteriolysis. LYSP-15x is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
