Overview

LYT-200 is a fully human IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits galectin-9, a protein implicated in tumor growth and immune suppression. By binding to galectin-9 on tumor cells, LYT-200 blocks its immunosuppressive effects, thereby reactivating anti-tumor immune responses and directly inducing cancer cell apoptosis and DNA damage. It is being developed as a first-in-class therapy for hematological malignancies such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and high-risk myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), as well as for solid tumors including head and neck cancers, with an emphasis on metastatic disease. The drug has received FDA Fast Track designation for AML and orphan drug status for both AML and pancreatic cancer[1][3][5][7][8].
