Overview

LYT-200 + azacitidine is a **combination therapy** being investigated primarily for relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and high-risk myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). LYT-200 is a fully human IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits **galectin-9**, a protein associated with oncogenic signaling and immunosuppression in hematologic malignancies. Azacitidine is a hypomethylating agent that induces DNA hypomethylation and cytotoxicity in abnormal hematopoietic cells. In combination, LYT-200 is designed to reduce tumor proliferation and overcome immune evasion, while azacitidine may further promote apoptosis and differentiation of malignant cells. The combination is administered in ongoing Phase 1 studies, usually alongside or with venetoclax, and has demonstrated preliminary clinical benefit including partial and complete responses in heavily pre-treated AML/MDS.[1][2][3][4]
