LYT-503

LYT-503 is a novel formulation of lidocaine developed as a non-opioid therapeutic candidate for the treatment of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). It leverages the Alivio technology platform to selectively bind to and treat inflamed tissue along the bladder wall while limiting systemic drug exposure. The drug is designed for intravesical administration (directly into the bladder) and aims to provide targeted and sustained pain relief for IC/BPS patients. Developed initially by Alivio Therapeutics (a PureTech Health company), it was later licensed to Imbrium Therapeutics (a subsidiary of Purdue Pharma) for further clinical development. As of December 2022, it entered Phase 1 clinical trials in female patients with IC/BPS[1][2][3][7][8].
