LYT-510

LYT-510 (formerly known as ALV-107) was an experimental therapeutic candidate developed by PureTech Health, utilizing the Alivio Inflammation-Targeted Therapy (ITT) platform. It was designed as a locally acting, stimulus-responsive hydrogel formulation of dexamethasone for the treatment of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). The ITT technology consists of a proprietary hydrogel that is engineered to adhere to inflamed tissue and release its therapeutic payload—in this case, a corticosteroid—only in the presence of inflammation-associated enzymes such as cathepsins and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). This localized delivery mechanism was intended to provide high concentrations of the drug at the site of disease within the bladder while minimizing systemic exposure and associated side effects. In 2022, PureTech Health announced it would no longer advance the Alivio platform programs, including LYT-510, to focus resources on other internal pipeline candidates.
