LZ-167 is a preclinical-stage small molecule drug candidate being developed by KeyZell Biotech. It is a repositioned existing molecule designed to target aggressive tumors by inhibiting both the MAP-kinase and PI3-kinase pathways. Preclinical studies have demonstrated approximately 80% efficacy across breast, colon, and lung cancer models. The drug's mechanism of action involves the induction of apoptosis, reduction of angiogenesis, and modulation of the tumor microenvironment, while reportedly selectively killing cancer cells and sparing healthy tissue. KeyZell is preparing to initiate Phase 1/2 clinical trials for indications including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and triple negative breast cancer.
