Overview

LZM004 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa-B Ligand (RANKL), developed by Zhuhai Livzon Monoclonal Antibody Biotechnology. As a biosimilar candidate for denosumab (specifically the Xgeva formulation), LZM004 is designed to inhibit the interaction between RANKL and its receptor RANK, which is essential for the formation, function, and survival of osteoclasts. By binding to RANKL, LZM004 suppresses osteoclast activity, thereby reducing bone resorption and increasing bone mass and strength. The drug is primarily being developed for the prevention of skeletal-related events in patients with bone metastases from solid tumors and for the treatment of giant cell tumor of bone. It is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials in China, aiming to demonstrate therapeutic equivalence to the reference product.
