Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LZM008 is a biosimilar tocilizumab developed by Livzon Mabpharm. It is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the interleukin-6 receptor (IL-6R), functioning as an IL-6 receptor antagonist. Tocilizumab and its biosimilars are primarily used as immunosuppressive agents in the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Clinical studies have demonstrated that LZM008 has pharmacokinetic equivalence, similar safety, and immunogenicity profiles compared to the reference product Actemra (tocilizumab). The drug has been registered for use in rheumatoid arthritis in China[1][2][3][5].
