Drug intelligence / Profile preview
M-1793 is an ultra-long-acting peptide YY (PYY) analogue developed by Metsera (acquired by Pfizer in September 2025) for the treatment of obesity. It is designed as a potent and selective agonist of the neuropeptide Y receptor type 2 (Y2R) with no activity at the Y1 receptor (Y1R). M-1793 is engineered for miscible combination with ultra-long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonists, such as MET-097, to enhance weight loss efficacy and improve tolerability. Preclinical studies in diet-induced obese (DIO) mice have demonstrated that M-1793 induces dose-dependent reductions in food intake and body weight, with more-than-additive weight loss when combined with MET-097. Its pharmacokinetic profile features a prolonged half-life (approximately 174 hours in minipigs) and a prolonged Tmax, which supports weekly or less frequent dosing in humans and helps avoid emesis.
