Overview

m-BEACOPP is a modified version of the BEACOPP chemotherapy regimen, which is a combination of drugs used primarily for the treatment of advanced or unfavorable Hodgkin lymphoma. The standard BEACOPP regimen includes bleomycin, etoposide, doxorubicin (Adriamycin), cyclophosphamide, vincristine (Oncovin), procarbazine, and prednisone (or prednisolone). The "m" in m-BEACOPP typically refers to a modification in dosing or scheduling compared to the original protocol. These modifications are intended to reduce toxicity while maintaining efficacy. The drugs in this regimen work by targeting rapidly dividing cells such as cancer cells; most are cytotoxic chemotherapy agents except for prednisone/prednisolone, which is a steroid that helps control inflammation and immune responses.
