Overview

M Cell is an autologous fibroblast transplantation therapy developed by MetaTech Biomed for regenerative medicine and tissue repair. The therapy utilizes a patient's own fibroblasts, typically harvested from the post-auricular (behind-the-ear) skin. These cells are expanded ex vivo using MetaTech's proprietary culture technology, which is reported to significantly enhance growth rates and collagen secretion compared to standard culture methods. Once the cell population is sufficiently expanded, the autologous fibroblasts are re-injected into the patient's target areas to treat skin defects such as wrinkles, scars, and depressions. The mechanism of action involves the integration of these fibroblasts into the dermal layer, where they produce collagen and other extracellular matrix components to restore skin structure and elasticity. M Cell is approved in Taiwan under the Special Regulation for Cell Therapy and is produced in a PIC/S GMP-certified facility.
