m-IPV2 HD is a monovalent, high-dose, inactivated poliovirus type 2 vaccine developed for the prevention of poliomyelitis caused by poliovirus type 2. It is designed to induce immunity specifically against serotype 2 of the poliovirus using an increased antigen dose compared to standard formulations. The mechanism of action involves stimulating the immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies against inactivated (killed) type 2 poliovirus, thereby providing protection from infection. Clinical studies have shown that m-IPV2 HD achieves higher seroconversion rates and immunogenicity compared to conventional trivalent IPV vaccines[1][9][2]. The primary indication is for use in infants as part of polio eradication strategies.
