M30 RNA vaccine is an experimental cancer vaccine developed by BioNTech that encodes the M30 neo-epitope, a mutation-derived antigen identified in B16 melanoma cells. The vaccine is designed to be presented by MHC class II molecules, specifically activating CD4+ T cells to mount a therapeutic immune response against tumors. Research has demonstrated its efficacy in mouse models of subcutaneous melanoma and lung metastases, though its effectiveness can be impaired by conditions like nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which causes a loss of CD4+ T cells in the liver environment.
