Overview

M701 is a recombinant human-mouse chimeric bispecific antibody developed by Wuhan YZY Biopharma primarily for the treatment of malignant ascites and malignant pleural effusion associated with advanced epithelial cancers, including colorectal, ovarian, gastric, liver cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer. The drug targets EpCAM (epithelial cell adhesion molecule) on tumor cells and CD3 on T cells. By binding to both targets simultaneously, M701 brings T cells into close proximity with tumor cells to enhance immune-mediated cytotoxicity against EpCAM-positive malignancies. Its mechanism involves direct T-cell activation via CD3 engagement and tumor targeting via EpCAM binding; the Fc region further recruits natural killer cells and activates complement pathways (ADCC/CDC), amplifying anti-tumor effects. Clinical studies indicate that intraperitoneal administration of M701 prolongs symptom control in patients with malignant ascites compared to standard therapies.
