Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MA-B2 is a monoclonal antibody therapeutic developed by MedPacto that targets the BAG Cochaperone 2 (BAG2) protein. BAG2 is a protein found to be overexpressed in the blood of patients with various solid cancers, including triple-negative breast cancer, where it promotes tumor growth and lung metastasis by interacting with enzymes that regulate the tumor microenvironment. MA-B2 is designed to bind to and neutralize BAG2, thereby inhibiting cancer metastasis and reducing the risk of relapse. The candidate has completed preclinical trials and is moving toward clinical development in partnership with Samsung Biologics, which serves as the contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO).
