Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ma Ren Run Chang Soft Capsules (麻仁润肠软胶囊) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) patent drug widely used in China for the treatment of constipation, particularly 'heat-type' constipation characterized by gastrointestinal heat accumulation, abdominal distension, and dry stools. The formulation is a soft capsule containing a mixture of traditional herbs, including hemp seed (*Fructus Cannabis* / Huo Ma Ren), bitter apricot seed (*Semen Armeniacae Amarum* / Ku Xing Ren), rhubarb (*Radix et Rhizoma Rhei* / Da Huang), costus root (*Radix Aucklandiae* / Mu Xiang), tangerine peel (*Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae* / Chen Pi), and white peony root (*Radix Paeoniae Alba* / Bai Shao). It functions by moistening the intestines, promoting peristalsis, and softening stool to facilitate easy evacuation. Developed and manufactured by companies such as Rongchang Pharmaceutical (Zibo) Co., Ltd. and Beijing Tongrentang Technologies, it has also served as an active comparator in clinical trials evaluating novel TCM therapies for constipation.
