Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MaaT Microbiome Restoration Biotherapeutic (MMRB) is a platform technology developed by MaaT Pharma. This platform is used to create full-ecosystem, live biotherapeutic products derived from pooled healthy donor intestinal ecosystems. These therapies, characterized by high microbial species diversity, are designed to restore gut microbiome functionality and re-establish immune system homeostasis. The platform's leading product candidates, MaaT013 (enema) and MaaT033 (oral capsule), are being developed to treat life-threatening conditions associated with cancer treatments and stem cell transplantation, such as acute Graft-versus-Host Disease (GvHD), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). The products have received Orphan Drug Designation from the FDA and EMA.
