Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MAB001 is a preclinical-stage switchable-affinity chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by MabSwitch in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The therapy targets CD19, a protein commonly expressed on the surface of B cells, and is intended for the treatment of B-cell cancers, other blood cancers, and autoimmune diseases. MAB001 utilizes the proprietary SaefCAR (Switchable Affinity CAR) platform, which allows for the modulation of CAR-T cell affinity and activity. This switchable mechanism is designed to provide a safer and more controllable therapeutic profile compared to conventional CAR-T therapies, potentially mitigating toxicities such as cytokine release syndrome while maintaining anti-tumor efficacy.
