Overview

MABEL CTLs are a type of investigational cell therapy consisting of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) specifically engineered to target and eliminate cells infected with the Epstein Barr Virus (EBV). These CTLs are generated from healthy donors and are trained to recognize three key EBV proteins: LMP, BARF-1, and EBNA1. They are being investigated for the treatment of various EBV-associated malignancies, including Hodgkin Disease, Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, T/NK-lymphoproliferative disease, Severe Chronic Active Epstein Barr Virus, Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma, Smooth Muscle Tumor, and Leiomyosarcoma. The therapy involves infusing these banked, partially matched CTLs into patients.
