Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mablet is a branded dietary supplement and oral mineral product containing 360 mg of magnesium hydroxide. It is formulated as a slow-release (depot) tablet using OptiTake technology, which facilitates a gradual and continuous release of magnesium for optimal absorption in the small intestine. Magnesium is a vital mineral that serves as a cofactor for over 300 enzymatic reactions, supporting muscle and nerve function, energy production, and bone health. Clinically, Mablet is used to address magnesium deficiency and gastrointestinal issues like indigestion and constipation. It has also been investigated in clinical trials as a maintenance therapy for patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) due to magnesium's potential bronchodilatory and anti-inflammatory properties. The product is primarily available in Nordic countries, such as Denmark.
