Overview

MACH-1 FAP colon cancer vaccine is a preclinical nucleic acid (DNA) vaccine being developed by Orlance for the treatment and prevention of Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) and associated colon cancer. The vaccine utilizes Orlance's proprietary MACH-1 (Micro-particle Accelerated Cell Harnessing) platform, which is an epidermal powdered gene gun delivery system. This technology delivers DNA-coated gold microparticles directly into the skin's epidermal layer, targeting Langerhans cells to induce a potent and systemic immune response. By delivering the genetic material directly into the cytoplasm of cells in the skin, the platform aims to overcome the delivery challenges typically associated with traditional DNA vaccines, potentially offering a more effective immunotherapy for colorectal malignancies.
