Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Maculife is a multi-ingredient dietary supplement developed by Farmigea S.p.A. for the management of retinal disorders and the maintenance of visual health. It is formulated as oral capsules containing a synergistic blend of antioxidants and nutrients, including lutein, zeaxanthin, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), tocotrienols, vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, and copper. These components work to protect the retinal pigment epithelium and photoreceptors from oxidative damage and the harmful effects of high-energy blue light. While some clinical databases may incorrectly categorize it as a topical ophthalmic formulation, Maculife is commercially available as an oral nutraceutical indicated for conditions such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
