Maftivimab is a human monoclonal IgG1κ antibody that targets the GP1,2 glycoprotein of Zaire ebolavirus (Ebola virus, strain Mayinga-76). It is used as part of a fixed-dose combination with atoltivimab and odesivimab (marketed as Inmazeb) for the treatment of Zaire ebolavirus infection in adults and pediatric patients, including neonates born to mothers confirmed positive for the virus. Maftivimab acts by binding to the viral envelope glycoprotein, neutralizing viral particles and blocking their entry into susceptible cells. This mechanism prevents infection and spread within the host. The three-antibody cocktail works synergistically to block cell infection, lysosomal escape, and may also promote immune-mediated destruction of infected cells[1][6][7].
