MAG-013 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody that targets the alpha subunit of the interleukin-7 receptor (IL7Rα, also known as CD127). Originally developed by miRagen Therapeutics (referred to as BuyCo in the context of its pipeline), the asset was out-licensed to a company incubated by MPM Capital. By binding to IL7Rα, MAG-013 is designed to act as an antagonist, inhibiting IL-7 mediated signaling pathways. IL-7 is a critical cytokine for the development, survival, and homeostatic proliferation of T-cell populations. Consequently, the inhibition of IL7Rα is being investigated as a therapeutic strategy for the treatment of T-cell mediated autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, where dysregulated IL-7 signaling contributes to pathogenesis.
