MAGE-3 targeted T cell therapy is an adoptive cellular immunotherapy designed to target cells expressing the Melanoma-associated antigen 3 (MAGE-A3). MAGE-A3 is a member of the cancer-testis antigen family, which is typically expressed in various malignant tumors but absent in normal adult tissues except for the testis and placenta, making it a highly specific target for cancer therapy. This specific therapeutic approach, developed by the Oncology Department of PLA General Hospital, involves the administration of T cells that have been primed or engineered to recognize MAGE-3 antigens. Once infused into the patient, these T cells identify and eliminate MAGE-3-positive tumor cells through cytotoxic mechanisms. The therapy is being evaluated for the treatment of advanced solid tumors in patients who have failed standard chemotherapy or targeted treatments.
