Overview

MAGE-A1-specific TCR-transduced T cells represent a novel cell therapy approach where a patient's own T cells are genetically engineered to express tumor-specific T-cell receptors (TCRs) targeting Melanoma-associated antigen 1 (MAGE-A1). This therapy is being developed through a cooperation agreement involving Medigene AG, Max Delbrück Center (MDC), and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Its primary indication is for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, where the modified T cells are intended to recognize and eliminate cancer cells expressing the MAGE-A1 antigen. The Max Delbrück Center handles GMP aspects, while Medigene supports regulatory affairs and advises on GMP and analytics, holding a first right of negotiation for commercial exploitation.
