MAGE-A3 TCR-T is an adoptive cell therapy consisting of T cells engineered to express a specific T-cell receptor (TCR) designed to target the Melanoma-associated antigen A3 (MAGE-A3). MAGE-A3 is a cancer-testis antigen that is highly expressed in various solid tumors but has restricted expression in normal tissues, making it an ideal target for immunotherapy. The therapy works by recognizing MAGE-A3 peptide fragments presented by Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) molecules on the surface of cancer cells. Upon binding, the engineered T cells are activated to proliferate and induce direct cytotoxicity against the tumor cells. This specific asset was developed in the laboratory of Dr. K. Christopher Garcia at Stanford University and was subsequently licensed by 3T Biosciences to treat malignancies such as melanoma, lung cancer, and ovarian cancer.
