MAGE-C2.A2 peptide vaccine is a research-stage peptide-based cancer vaccine developed by Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc (Université Catholique de Louvain). It consists of an HLA-A2-restricted antigenic peptide derived from the MAGE-C2 (Melanoma Antigen gene C2) tumor-associated antigen. The vaccine is designed to stimulate CD8+ cytotoxic T-cell immune responses against MAGE-C2-expressing tumor cells. It has been evaluated in a Phase 2 clinical trial (NCT00365937) in Belgium, where disease-free, HLA-A2-positive cutaneous melanoma patients at high risk of relapse were immunized with a multipeptide regimen containing MAGE-C2.A2 alongside other melanoma-associated HLA-A2 peptides, administered alone or in combination with adjuvants such as Montanide ISA 51 and/or IMP321.
