MAGE1-TBHSP70 is a recombinant protein vaccine construct designed for cancer immunotherapy. It consists of the MAGE1 (Melanoma-Associated Antigen 1) tumor antigen fused to a truncated bacterial heat shock protein 70 (TBHSP70) derived from *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*. The TBHSP70 component acts as a molecular chaperone and potent adjuvant, enhancing the processing and presentation of the MAGE1 antigen to stimulate cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL)-mediated immune responses. This vaccine targets MAGE-expressing tumor cells, which are found in various cancers including melanoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and pulmonary carcinoma. Research on this construct was primarily academic, supported by Chinese national science programs, and served as a precursor to the multivalent MAGE1-MAGE3-TBHSP70 vaccine.
